RE: Fresh Squeals!
guess I'll sign out now, piggies. Ralphie'll be back on Monday, I've had a gas sittin' in for him the last two weeks. I'll be back to my usual time slot now - "see ya" all tomorrow morning, Saturday, 10 am.
Take care, and again, a very happy new year to you all ...

Hey! Not on page fifty-something this evening which is morning. Thanks Cynthia and Diemaster. I'm terrible at reading responses. I'm a spray-painter, I guess. Short on time, attention, and brain cells needed for concentration. Good vibes do have extended reach.

Fine day at the tavern. Food coming from all directions. Fellas and fillies in jovial spirits. Icebox is full.

Powdery snow covered windshields on Fifth Street - easily swiped away with minimal effort. Clear vision afforded for the various ascents west, and descents east toward the river.

Thinking of resolutions, and the game lost today. Bet 110 on West 'by God' Virginny agin Florida State: minus two and half; and over sixty. Wallet's a little lighter.

Old cat doing swell. Getting more rotund after every meal of each day. Mouser will not come inside. Vet says she is one of the healthiest ever seen. Fat and sassy during the winter; lean and mean through Spring, Summer, and Fall. Protected in a shingled, elevated house with fresh stray encircling her.

One more day at the bar tomorrow. Is Irish Cream and coffee some sort of "nectar from the gods" or what? Anything but Bailey's. Carolans if I got some scratch. Cheaper stuff still, as long it pours.

Best be gittin on ta dem feathers. The Corrs' "Live in Dublin", and tunes from "i am sam" is on the musical itinerary for tomorrow. Really digging a hockey writer's son singing "Motorcyle Mama" at present.

Thanks again Cynth & Die, and every single pig. YOU got it going on. Cheers....night. Hoping better than a good one all around.

Even Drake, our 5 year old grandson got into the crab. His sister tried, but preferred a PBJ sandwich

RE: Fresh Squeals!
last night, I went to a benefit for the Salvation Army which featured the Trailer Park Troubadours, and a "Trailer Park New Year's Day Buffet" catered by the good folks at Grapes of Wrath. This was BBQ chicken, coleslaw, cornbread, and black-eyed peas.
I had my doubts, (especially as a vegetarian,) but everything except the chicken was meat-free, and it was all quite delicious. I usually make black-eyed peas and greens and cornbread every New Year's Day; this is the first time in many many years I can remember eating someone else's. The black-eyed peas had a nice tooth to them, and plenty of peppery bite. The cornbread was soft and sweet, with a great crumb, and the coleslaw was very tasty, very lightly dressed, not too sweet and not vinegary. Very good.
So, that's the food report.

Oh,and btw? The show (the music) was GREAT! Big Grin
