Made my first trip down the Mohican when I was in Boy Scouts. The troop leader spoke for quite a while about how to avoid tipping the canoe over... He didn't even make it away from the dock before winding up in the river.... What a klutz!
But, at least he was taking the time to try and help with a bunch of kids.
Oh, and that's where I learned that cantalope (musk melon) float... Who'da thunk?

LOL! We used to go down to WestByGod to whitewater raft when I lived in Ohio, too. One year, we got a particularly smartass guide and there was a girl with us that had never been before. It was the first leg of the trip, which is always very, very calm. She was sitting at the front and ask the guide when it would start to get exciting. He told her in about 20 feet. I was puzzled because I knew it was going to be quite a bit farther ahead than that. At about 20 feet, he dropped his paddles, ran past all of us to the front, picked her up and dumped her in the river. Big Grin

Nice cool day here in central Florida. It looks like my citrus trees have survived the great freeze of 2010, fruit is a total loss though. If we don't get another hard freeze, next year I should have loaded trees! Helen has the day off today so we are headed for the mouse house this morning. Space mountain has been reopened so I'm headed there first, everyone loves that ride. I love sitting here in the mornings before everyone gets up. I can keep the tunes soft and peaceful without having to compete with the background noise.....

Well, I just came back into the warm from clearing my drive... Took 2 & 1/2 hours...
We have a weatherman on local TV that has been around for at least 40 years... Last night he said we "might" get an inch or so with the counties to the south of us getting 1"-3".... I've got at least 8" with drifts 2 foot high.... I have no idea how he's kept his job all these years. And, he's one of the most popular personalities in Cleveland.

Here in lovely Butler Ohio we got about 18 inches of snow.
Had a freezing fog this morning and the trees are beautiful.
Plenty of fire wood inside and got enough snow shoveled out for the dogs and cat to go outside.
Have to love it here.
