Vintage March Squeals!
Good morning hogsters.
What's up with the pig player? This morning it switched from some no-name software to something based on Windows Media...
Buffers every ten to twenty seconds. Unbearable to listen to...
Hopefully, just a start up glitch.

Don't know fer sure.. BUT ....
Me thinks there might be a new web person...

Try to send an request from the front page...
Ya gets a form that when filled out doesn't go to the DJ..
The info goes to sales and management who read it and then forward it to the on air DJ.

Of course there's no management around on the weekends..So any info collected then can't be sent to the DJ 'til Monday..

New Player doesn't work on my machine.

Grrrrrrrr!!! Still doing the buffering thing every 10-20 seconds.
Fingernails on the blackboard... The only thing worse would being force-fed American Idol...
Maybe it's the new business plan. Make the stream unbearable to listen to and no one will listen. No need for a stream. No need to spend valuable time selling advertising space...
I'll try again in a day or two.

Just another report from the midwest...
KPIG stream is still re-buffering every 10-20 seconds. Angry
Bootlicker doesn't have any problems on the same Windows Media Player...
I know I'm repeating myself but, if you don't have a listen-able system, you'll have no internet audience.
Anyone else having the same problem?

There are some others who are having this problem, but it is not widespread.

I don't know what the new player is all about, since nobody tells us anything about anything....and as far as losing listeners, why should Mapleton care when they already got the sponsors money!!

This link has been working for me with no buffering in Winamp and Windows Media Player:

http://74.201.24.2/live_mapleton_vitalst...WMExt=.asf

Just wish that there was some new filler music during commercial breaks for us internet listeners. Some of it is downright cheezy. Ralphie once compared it to the Country Bear Jamboree! I know that this is not fault of KPIG piggies. Will continue to turn it down and try to remember to turn up again 3-4 minutes later.

Okay, so that link seems to be more stable than the one I click on from the front page....
Please bear with a computer cave-man... Explain how I can save the link or where it can be found.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Moke Guy!

Option 1) Click the link, it may appear in your browser. If so, add it to your bookmarks/favorites. Then you can retrieve it later. I believe that if you click the link, it may open whatever application you are using to listen otto-matically

Option 2) Right click the link, choose copy (or copy link location). Then paste that into WinAmp or Windows Media player under File_ Play URL (or Open URL). After that it should appear in your player history and you can add it to bookmarks, etc.

As to where it can be found, I'm not sure. It came unto me on a flaming pie...... Cool

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a computer whiz!!! There are probably many who could explain this better. This just works for me.

Smile

Good Luck and Oink On!

Yeah, I've been listening for over a decade but Mapleton (or whoever) decided to play & replay a sickening jingle every fifteen minutes alllll day long to the internet listeners. This began in early March of 2009. I thought for sure they'd eventually swap out that horrible sound and add some new fillers in. But they didn't.

I used to listen to KPIG all day. Now I only listen when I'm at my desk, near my computer controls so I can mute the PIG when that horrible jingle shows back up (which it does predictably several times an hour !!!!)

I'd rather hear ads that get swapped out in intervals than the same horrible jingle for an entire year, hour after hour after hour after hour...Confused
