They played that this morning. And a couple more. Loved them all.

I heard from Keith, BTW. They are working on putting more vids out there. That will be cool.

(04-03-2010 10:39 AM)TheOne Wrote:  Funny, since the pig is a commercial venture, what you're saying is the equivalent to "I'm happy to kick in a quarter a day to Lockheed Martin because I want to support their efforts to build F-22's for a quarter billion a shot to the government." But, hey, if you're into corporate charity, go for it.

Face it, the fee is nothing but the butthead owners trying to extract the last few pennies from a doomed enterprise. I'll either get the stream for free, or I'll move to some other stream that's free. In either case, the pig's dead, it's just hasn't yet been determined when it's going to gasp its last.

WOW, the bitterness has really gotten hold of you. I see it this way; the PIG fills a need for me--I really appreciate the music, the DJ's personal involvement, the KPIG history, etc. I have no problem paying for things I want, and I want this. I also continue to mention the 16 cents because it's really peanuts. Obviously, based on your statement "I'll get the stream for free, or I'll move on to some other stream...", you only appreciate the free. I'm willing to bet that you pay for things I would consider a waste of money or time, but you see, the difference is that I don't care what you do with your money. If the peanuts that the stream costs us helps Mapleton, a company under some serious stress, keep paying the internet streaming fees, that's a cost I am willing to bear. Yep, nothing is guaranteed, and my 16 cents a day may not keep the PIG on the net, but I'm of the mindset that my only risk is a few bucks a month, but the payback is large because the PIG means something to me. So thereSmileSmileSmile

Did you happen to catch this story on hunger on All Things Considered the other day?

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story...=125299636

Truly heartbreaking to listen to. The transcript on that page doesn't do it justice at all. But also motivating to do more to help.

I'll have to check that out later.
I appreciate when these stories air around the time that folks are thinking about preparing big holiday feats. Gives folks something to think about ...

I bought a six month's subscription right away and I'll continue doing that as long as it's there.

$5 a month is nothing (that is the right amount?). Bandwidth does cost bucks and I never really understood how the Pig was able to offer free streams because I can''t imagine the advertising ever did pay the cost.

I really objected to the REAL option, way back when, because of the bloatware/spyware/adware their products carry. But this is great.

I hope everyone supports the Pig and chips in!

Keep up the good work Piggies, bringin' home the bacon!

I do, too. Keeps things in perspective.

The others they did Everybody's Hurting and Holy Rollers for Love were really nice, too.

Hey, Mike P.! That's the ticket! Thanx, man. Smile

Attention "TheOne". See-most of us feel this way, so more power to you with whatever hack let you get it free, but in this life, some things are worth the cost, and if you like the PIG, you'll kick in too. Your attitude with the bitchy comments can't be good for your blood pressure, and I prescribe some pharmaceutical mud for you.

LOL! I got Bill on his knees out front taking some good macro pics of the tiny little flowers that are blooming all over the place. Just looked out and he's picking out grass to get good shots. Big Grin

RE: Fresh Squeals for April!!
so, I know Richard won't be here tomorrow morning ... what do the rest of you have planned for the holiday morning tomorrow?
Ralphie's doing, "The Gospel According to Ralph" from 6 am to 8 am, so I won't be in until 8 - just a 2 hour show for me, and then of course I'll be here for PSB at 10. Wallace Baine's sitting in as guest host.
Having just one friend, (as far as I know!) over for dinner in the evening ... we'll keep it low key and simple Smile

We're trying to entice the grandkids over for the day--not sure if we can work that out, though. Other than that--nothing special.
