Gung Hay Fat Choy - gyoza
I'm planning to make a special meal for Chinese New Year, this Thursday the 3rd.
One traditional item is dumplings or gyoza. Today I prepped my vegetable gyoza, then put them in the freezer. On Thursday, I'll only have to cook them.

here's the filling:

placed on the wrapper:

I wound up making a total of 30 gyoza:

of course, being very proud of how cute they are, I had to take shots from several angles! Wink Big Grin

now, they are resting in the freezer. I'll post more pics after they are cooked on Thursday. Smile

Gung Hay Fat Choy!!

Arden, those are some AWESOME looking Potstickers !!! I am waiting for the pix of cooked on Thursday, ha !!!

I bought a purple potsticker press in S.F. Chinatown last month. The presses work wonderfullly with the Dynasty pre-prepared Gyoza wrappers but if you get the more authentic (thicker) wrappers from Asian Fish City or whatever, then the press is useless and your fingers become very valuable, ha !!!!!

Your photographs are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them !!

Potstickers RULE !!!!!!!!!

Gung Hay Fat Choy feast was a big success ...

Adzuki bean soup with miso, sesame seeds and green onions, vegetable gyoza with dipping sauce ...

another shot of the gyoza:

then I fed him tea and oranges that come all the way from China* :

*actually, only the tea, and not the oranges came from China, but 5 bonus points to you if you catch the reference Smile
