What is the plan ? I always like to try out new healthy ideas...

Geez, I get on a new health kick every other month it seeems, ha !!!!

As of last Monday, I jumped on the magnesium bandwagon. My heart was beating realllly strange. And having no medical insurance, I had to figure the thing out myself.

Well I found out real quick which fooods have lotsa magnesium in 'em... And it was definitely a quick fix cuz I feel 1000% better now.
And my heart beats kinda normal 'cept when I dwell tooo much on my new living arrangements, ha !!!!!! (yeah, stress is apparently a big factor tooooo.)

DAMN! I should have listened more than I did, the AM fidelity sucked but I was getting over that, now I'm unemployed and at home, I was listening to 1510 a lot more; one, because it was great radio, and two, because KFOG is becoming unlistenable except for the specialty programming, too much repetition, the advent of 103.7 "The Band", another tired, automated "classic rock" jukebox has gotten KFOG to reign in their playlist tighter and tighter in a ratings war. When I heard Chinese last Sunday on 1510, I was praying it was just a temporary transmitter upgrade, but now it's gone, baby gone. Are you folks shopping for an FM frequency? How about 92.3, the Bay Area doesn't need two "alternative" stations. KPIG is the real alternative, radio in the tradition of the stations I grew up with, KSAN, KMPX, KKCY and KFAT. I'm cursed with the memory of great FM radio. Would Mapleton consider a "public/private partnership"? That is, loyal listeners could help chip in to purchase a Bay Area presence once more, on FM this time around. Music is dead on AM. I'll be in the Monterey area more, because my kid will be attending CSU Monterey Bay, so I'll get you down there and I'll consider subscribing on-line. I sincerely hope this is temporary.

KPIG, While your broadcast notification today that KPIG 1510 AM in the Bay Area will stop this weekend, this is not a simple business decision on your part. The listeners here have put up with lousy service and yet still supported your advertisers. To pull a 'business' decision such as this, with no heads up, is just rude. I could very easily go bad mouth here. Yet will take the not so low road. As a former listener of KFAT 30 years ago, this to will pass. You could have made this work. Personally I believe your marketing crew and station management blew it here. Hire better staff that can get the broadcast to work, then the sales people will be able to do their job. Then maybe the situation here would haved worked. You have already made the decision, so all I may say here is, I will see you money grubbing HELL.

I just heard from a friend that Ben Keith has passed away.
It's difficult for me to process this right now.
Ben was such an integral part of many of Neil Young's greatest
musical works. He had a signature soulful sound and you could
recognize it instantly.

There are quite a few Neil Young songs where his pedal steel
playing adds beauty. I'm sure you know them. Spoke with an old
friend and he is also saddened by this loss. I can imagine
Neil Young is devastated by the loss of his friend and colleague.

It is pure coincidence but I had just written a song about the
transformation to the afterlife. I did not know about Ben when
I wrote this yesterday but when I found out about Ben a shiver
went through me. Because I must have been writing this around
the time of his death. The idea for the song came to me first on
Sunday. I wrote the first draft Sunday, worked on it yesterday,
finished it this morning and then heard about Ben's death.

Rest In Peace Ben, as my old friend said, your music meant so
much to us. Thank You,

I think I'm lost.....I think I'm all alone
I need some light.....To find a way back home

A little taste.....Of the cold night air
Darkness waits.....I feel it everywhere

I think it's time......To Disappear

Went searching for.....What I thought was mine
Looked everywhere.....Just ran out of time

I found myself.....On an empty beach
I see a light.....Dancing on the sea

I think it's time.....To Disappear

I hear an old song.....I look into that light
It's summertime.....1965

I watch my life.....Pass before my eyes
I see a child.....Says everything's alright

I think it's time.....To Disappear

That little child.....Was once inside of me
So innocent.....And so carefree

I took his hand.....We ran toward the light
I watched my life.....For one last time

I think it's time.....To Disappear

Now time to cross.....To the other side
Now nothing left.....Of my past Life

In a flash.....I'm no longer here
As I dissolve.....into the atmosphere

I feel the Love.....And I Disappear

Dedicated Maniacs:

Featuring psychedelic jams spinning out of original songs and classic covers, the Dedicated Maniacs are a group of Bay Area musicians inspired by the psychedelic cowboy and roots music of the New Riders of the Purple Sage, Grateful Dead, The Band, Bob Dylan, David Nelson Band, Willie Nelson, Gram Parsons, and more. They actively utilize their improvisational and general weirdness skills to reinterpret the classic American roots music catalog. The Dedicated Maniacs are guitarists Michael Berry and Mike Jensen, bassist Douglas Garay, drummer Mark Corsolini, and keyboardist Scott Fernandez.

Pat Nevins and Amy Gabel Band (opener)

Singer-guitarist Pat Nevins brings a band, mostly acoustic, featuring singer Amy Gabel. The two are members of Nevins’ band Ragged Glory, which performs songs of Neil Young and Gram Parsons. Nevins is also well-known from his work with the Grateful Dead-influenced bands Workingman’s Ed and Grapefruit Ed as well as his “Shakey Zimmerman” solo CD tribute to Neil Young and Bob Dylan. The group also includes local mandolinist Mike McKinley from Harmony Grits.

Miss the Crazyhorse? The Dedicated Maniacs and Pat Nevins join forces for a very special set of full-band electric Neil Young! Anything is possible when these forces meet up, but expect classics like "Cowgirl in the Sand", "Powderfinger", "Down by the River", and other hits (and rarities) from Neil Young's extensive catalog. With Pat Nevins' uncanny lead vocals and the powerful musicianship and harmonies of the Dedicated Maniacs- this set is sure to scrape off the rust!
