if you are like me, you might have already given to Haitian relief, maybe even through more than one organization ... but if you still feel like you might like to do more, this is a great way to help while simultaneously getting yourself some great music to listen to, and maybe learning a little bit more about French Caribbean culture and music than you knew previously. Informative liner notes even include a recipe!

Every Sunday from 6-9 PM, The Alternative Cafe in Seaside has an open mic where poets, musicians and even comedians are welcome to share their talents. There is only one ground rule: try to keep it clean. Otherwise, it's up to the artist to share what's in their souls.

I think the limit is about ten minutes. You'll have to check with the organizer, whom you can contact through their Facebook event page.

Had an idea for sharing 100 great albums that spun on a turntable And influenced me between the years 1964 thru 1979.
(Some of these got a lot of turntable time from my parents and the music stays with me to this day).

Set to my original song SONGS (From That Place In Time) featuring
A professionally mastered audio track by http://www.acmastering.com

Making this one reminded me how great the days of album cover art was. Still have most of these vinyl LPs today and a working turntable. My song was written in 1977 and this was recorded in Feb. 2008. Had to limit the albums to rock genre up to 1979 and even then Just scratched the surface. I started out wanting to include Blues, R&B, Soul, Bluegrass, Folk, Country but simply not enough space and That would be a very long list!

Hope you enjoy and see some of your favorites in here.
Mighty fine, mighty fine.
I'll bet you'll like it lots and lots, just like I do.
A side foray from Mr. Rigney usual rockin' cajun/zydeco thang, here he ventures into classic old timey acoustic blues. It's got Roy Rogers, Norton Buffalo and Bob Brozman all over it, along with some great boogie woogie piano, and a host of other fine musicians.
Tasty, tasty. Yum yum.

Here's the page for scone recipes:
Scones Recipes

Yeah, they sure could use someone better to work on their website but no matter. The recipes are nice, though could use some work. I tweaked their Savory Cheese Scone recipe a bit to add some walnuts in it, and dang it is so wonderful!. I'll be bringing some of them to church tomorrow as my prayer circle is in charge of refreshments that morning. I save time by modifying the recipe to mix up the drys and the wets into a food processor, making sure not to mix it too much. Then, I do something radical: I bake them in muffin tins. That cuts down on the rolling and extra work. It's not necessary to make them in triangles or cut them into circles, so dropping the dough into the muffin tins helps it keep a shape and it works so well.

I really wish I could go the New Orleans Jazz Festival, especially when I found out that Clarence "Frogman" Henry was going to perform on the last day. They already have their list of performers up on their website, and I'm kicking myself for being so danged poor. That, and my daughter can't miss any school in May.
